MICHAEL OSBORNE DESIGN STUDIO

The architectural part of buildings around a piazza provided the perfect format for the Michael Osborne Design Studio, a nationally recognized graphic design firm. Located within a large, warehouse space in San Francisco, the design takes advantage of the spacious building shell, and of the views to an adjacent garden. The offices and conference room are arranged around a central design core, where individual workstations are clustered. Designed as low “buildings,” the spaces admit the maximum amount of light from the perimeter, which is oriented toward the outdoors. The “urban” design allows for the energy and interconnectivity of a pedestrian neighborhood. The interior architecture is rendered in clear finished wood, integral color plaster, steel and glass. Custom lighting fixtures, which resemble light posts in a public setting, centralize the axis of the design core. Two skylights complete the wonderfully spacious atmosphere, with additional warmth from the fireplace and Mediterranean colors.
