AZIE LOFTS/826 FOLSOM

Initially the client, who successfully developed Lulu next door, wanted to convert her existing warehouse into a new, South of Market restaurant, lounge, and catering facility. With design underway for Azie, CCS proposed ten small rental loft units be built above and alongside the restaurant as part of the same project - thereby maximizing the site’s potential. CCS outlined the economic benefits and verified that planning department approval could be attained -whereupon the client expanded the scope to include the lofts.

The lofts, each approximately 700 square feet on two levels, have a curtain-wall composition of clear anodized aluminum windows with clear and sandblasted glazing - providing a maximum sense of spaciousness, light, and views.  Their double-height, minimalist interiors are oriented with five units having views facing south and five towards downtown.
