SEKOYA | PALO ALTO, CA

CCS and owners Steve & Sean Ugur have joined forces again to bring a delightful new restaurant to Palo Alto, CA – SEKOYA Lounge & Kitchen. Building on the success of their previous venture, PAUSA Bar & Cookery in San Mateo, SEKOYA's cuisine, beverage program, and design work together to pay homage to the dynamic location of Palo Alto while introducing something new and fresh to the community.

Located in Palo Alto's historic shopping district on California Avenue, SEKOYA evokes an organic, botanical experience, drawing inspiration from the grandeur of California's native Sequoia and Redwood trees – commonly known as "Palo Alto." SEKOYA, pronounced like "Sequoia," derives its name from these majestic trees, with a clever twist in spelling. The design also shows appreciation for the Sequoia and Redwood trees, which are exclusive to California. The interior seamlessly blends the natural elements of Palo Alto's history with contemporary aesthetics, featuring redwood woodwork, wood slabs, and other organic materials harmoniously combined with ultra-modern lighting and vibrant, sophisticated colors.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a lively front patio, inviting them to indulge in a lounge-centered experience inside. For those seeking to immerse themselves in Palo Alto's beautiful year-round weather, the back terrace area provides a charming outdoorsy setting. As a focal point, a grand, reclaimed tree serves as a gathering table, welcoming guests into the lounge and bar area. Here, a carved marble bar illuminated by a glowing rope light pulls guests to the vibrant cocktail scene, while opposite, the colorful lounge offers invites you to relax, sip and dine with a date or friends in modern comfort. Surrounding the entire space are skillfully plastered walls with custom linework by local artisans. Distinct seating areas provide guests with outdoor, communal, and lounge seating, the lively bar, or private parties in the plush Private Dining "Pacific" Room.
