WILD GOOSE
CCS directed a major renovation of Lake Tahoe’s popular ‘Sunsets on the Lake’ restaurant, which was renamed ‘Wild Goose’ when it re-opened. The owners, Tahoe Club Company, envision the site as the area’s premier dining establishment—and the “crown jewel” in aresort amenity program for Northstar Properties. The design called for a richly textured and contemporary interior, from which all points of view are oriented toward the lake. Envisioned as a Contemporary Classic on Tahoe’s North Shore, the design is fashioned after the lake cruisers of the 1920’s.
The 5,000 square foot restaurant is reconstructed and re-engineered to remove all visual obstructions to the lake. The new composition offers a relocated entry that flows into a large mahogany bar; a main dining room that is open to a new mezzanine; a custom fireplace encircled by dining tables, and a covered outdoor dining area which is nestled in the trees and terraced above the lake with an outdoor fire pit with casual seating. Interior finishes include mahogany, fine leather and polished stainless steel.
The finished design re-establishes the classic lines of Lake Tahoe’s Northern shore, and offers dining on two floors inside plus covered terrace dining lakeside.
